Vilden Associates, Inc. was founded in 1978 by Armando Villavicencio, bringing deep expertise from the maritime shipping industry, where he previously led information systems for a major stevedore organization.

In its early years, Vilden focused on consulting and systems development—helping transportation companies solve complex operational challenges through feasibility studies, custom programming, and process design.

As the industry evolved, so did Vilden.

By the mid-1980s, the company expanded into data communications, application development, EDI, and business process optimization. During this time, Vilden began developing both packaged and customized software solutions for a wide range of logistics providers, including steamship lines, agencies, LTL carriers, NVOCCs, container freight stations, and drayage operators.

This progression positioned Vilden as one of the early pioneers in delivering fully integrated, turnkey software solutions to the transportation industry.
