Trans-Pacific Spot Rates Stabilize

Spot rates on the trans-Pacific trade remained stable week-over-week after a 13.6 percent increase last week following a rate increase of $300 per 40-foot equivalent unit (FEU) implemented by Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) carriers on March 15th.

The container rate benchmark for moves between Hong Kong to Los Angeles remained at $2,013 per FEU this week after jumping by $242 last week.  Year-over-year, this weeks’ spot rate is 18.9 percent higher than it was the same week in 2011.
