Trans-Pacific and Trans-Atlantic Trade Volumes Steadily Rising Year Over Year

Both West Coast and East Coast container volumes are steadily up compared to last year, signifying solid growth over the last year for both imports and exports.

Containerized imports moving through West Coast ports in June were up 10 percent from June 2013. Exports also grew, increasing 3 percent and with total container volume up 7 percent compared to June 2013.

Containerized imports moving through East Coast ports noticeably increased 3.8 percent in March compared to the same month last year. However, U.S. exports to Europe grew just 1.9 percent in year-over-year growth.
