Led by U.S.-based companies’ exports to emerging foreign markets, U.S. global trade is expected to rise 4.7 percent annually over the course of the next 15 years according to analysts. During the next 5 years, U.S. exports are expected to increase by more than 8 percent annually to trading partners Brazil, Peru and Turkey.
U.S. exports to China are also expected to eclipse U.S. imports from China between 2022 and 2027. In 2026, analysts predict that China and Germany will supersede the U.S. as the world’s largest importers
