Used Truck Pricing on the Rise

After low new truck production levels in 2009, truckers are feeling the pinch with national used truck pricing rising around 16 percent in April compared to last year. Year over year, the national average price for used trucks is above $51,000, compared to the $47,500 average just a few months ago.

With truckers now holding onto equipment longer now since the recession, resellers are now scrambling to find used trucks after supplies dwindled going into 2012. With demand still high and supply not being enough, only time will tell how much higher used equipment may rise as we continue into 2012. Stay tuned as more unfolds.
